Low Vitamin D level increases odds of death from all causes.
A study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine found that individuals with low level vitamin D appeared to have a higher risk of death from all causes.
Patients were followed up a median of 8.7 years.
Those patients with lowest level of vitamin D had a 26% increase rate of death from any cause than those with the highest vitamin D levels.
Further studies are needed to confirm findings and establish the mechanism of the underlying observation.
In the meantime if you don’t drink milk I advise you to start!
